Co-Director

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Platt, JD, MA, is the Director of Research and Operations at the Center for Public Health Law Research (CPHLR) at the Temple University Beasley School of Law. Lizzy is a Co-Investigator on the project, bringing legal epidemiology expertise to the RESPIRAR team.

Lizzy and her team at CPHLR support RESPIRAR’s effort to track state laws and policies impacting farmworkers by assisting with the creation of scientific legal mapping data using policy surveillance methods. Legal epidemiology is the scientific study of law as a factor in the cause, distribution, and prevention of disease and injury in a population.

Lizzy brings over 12 years of legal epidemiology and legal mapping experience and leads several CPHLR projects tracking respiratory infectious disease laws, drug policy laws, and other legal domains impacting people’s wellness and quality of life.
