Spring 2024 community engagement is underway.

The RESPIRAR outreach team is working with the farmworker community throughout the Eastern Shore to engage with the study.

The RESPIRAR Project

We are an interdisciplinary team exploring how historical and contemporary institutional policies and practices affect health outcomes among migrant and seasonal farmworkers.

Our multi-disciplinary research is designed to inform policies and best practices to improve the livelihood of essential farmworkers.

2023 research findings are available.

WHAT WE DO

The RESPIRAR project is designed to help implement long-term change by filling the gaps in missing data and analysis while seeking to understand why health disparities exist within the farmworker community. Our work is driven by research, outreach efforts, and developing relevant resources.

We are researching how policies and practices affect health outcomes among essential farmworkers.

We are building relationships and participating in community outreach events to advance our research and share findings.

We will disseminate our findings in various formats, ranging from policy briefs to journal articles and educational materials for farmworkers.
